I bet almost weekly, we have someone coming into our clinic wanting to loose weight, or needing to loose weight.

Frequently, we will hear of all the work they have done trying to lose weight.  This diet plan, and that one.  This special food program and another. They often will lose some eight, but almost always will have it return in the near future.

In functional medicine, we say that weight is an issue of health.  Whene the body is not healthy, the weight will either be too much, or too little.  

Rather than placing people on a carolie restriction, or caliorie boost, we prefer to get the body healthy, then the wieght tends to go where it should.  Rarely, do we need to use calorie restriction.  The focus is on health - health of the gut, healthy hormone levels, and healthy activity.
